Baytown Neighbors Membership
Baytown Neighbors is a non-profit corporation formed to enhance the community of Baytown. Since its inception in July, 1999, signage has been erected identifying the boundaries of Baytown, a bi-monthly newsletter has been published, various groups and committees have been formed and, of course the new community building has been built.Membership is open to all adult residents of Baytown Township. The $1.00 per member dues supports the efforts of Baytown Neighbors. No officer or director has ever received a salary or any compensation whatsoever. In fact, much of the postage, photo-copying and paper for flyers, etc. is donated.
Baytown Neighbors does not and will not sell your name or any identifying information to any organization or business. The information is for our record-keeping purposes only, to show membership in our non-profit organization.
The Internal Revenue Service has granted tax-exempt status on Baytown Neighbors. While dues are not deductible, any donation received over the $1.00 amount is deductible according to the Internal Revenue Code.
The financial report for Baytown Neighbors for each fiscal year (January 1-December 31) is printed in the March issue of the newsletter following the end of the fiscal year. One of our biggest expenses is liability insurance. For insurance purposes, Baytown Neighbors is considered a "club". The insurance premium paid in August for the upcoming year was in the amount of $564. Your dues, donations and the funds raised at the picnic help us to pay these and other costs.
Thank you for your support.
